OUR VINEYARD
"Once upon a time, on the Côte des Blancs,
an essence rooted in chalk earth,
Chardonnay."

OUR VINEYARD
•
Our vines are gilded on the hillsides around Vertus on the Côte des Blancs.
A clay of chalk, which Joachim Viard works all year round
to extract its essence: chardonnay, the heart of our champagnes.
We benefit from excellent conditions to produce fragrant and high quality grapes. The farm is made up of different plots with a limestone-rich subsoil on the hillsides exposed mainly to the south-east under the influence of a harsh but temperate climate thanks to the oceanic influence.
We operate 4.20 hectares.
The average age of the vineyard is around 40 years.
The Chardonnay grape predominates and represents 93% of our production.
The Pinot Noir and Meunier varieties equally share the rest of the production. The vines are spread over 4 geographical areas:
Virtues and surroundings, on the other side of the Côte des Blancs (Soulières),
Vitryat (Vavray-le Petit) and Aisne (Gland).
